Casino Royale Part 1

I decided to choose the opening scene of Casino Royale because of the immense action that takes place alongside the numeorus different camera angle shots that are included. The scene begins with a character recieving a text message reading 'Ellipsis', this springs questions to the audiences mind as to what this might mean as the real meaning is ... so this grabs their attention making them want to continue watching.
A different character is then brought into the perspective and is involved in a phone conversation with the main actor-Daniel Craig who then informs him of some information regarding the first character. Whilst this events are happening, there are different camera shot angles being used, for example wide shot to show the vast crowd of people and close ups to portray the characters' emotions.
Then, they both acknowledge each other and from this precise moment the action begins with a rapid chase through palm trees, on scaffolding with a picturesque ocean background view which then leads to an area filled with armed men.
The chase consists of a variety of different camera shot angles including long shots to show the maximum body movement and a 90 degrees turn to show the height at which they are fighting to enforce the idea of their lives being in danger.
Throughout the chase, the camera focuses on Daniel Craig several times with close up shots to show his determination to catch his opponent. This makes the audience knowledgeable of the importance of the chase because of the dangerous and risky stunts involved and encourages them to continue watching to find out the reason for this chase.
The dramatic music also contributes to the intensity of the chase and fight.
When faced against numerous soldiers armed with guns and with his enemy in his hands, Daniel Craig manages to blow up the area causing an explosion, the effects used in this explosion are astounding and of high quality. This results in him being landed with what he wanted-the enemy's bag.
In this bag he makes a shocking discovery as he finds bombs and the text message reading 'Ellipsis', this hooks the reader even more as they know want to know what 'Ellipsis' means so they will continue watching.
